Meet the team behind GO Interiors' new Basingstoke Depot

As GO Interiors opens the doors to our brand-new Basingstoke depot, we’re shining a spotlight on the team leading the way – from Depot Manager Andrew Mckenna to the experienced team supporting operations day in, day out. Together, they’re bringing Guaranteed Outstanding Service to contractors across the South.

“We’re building something special here – a depot with heart, knowledge, and service at its core.”

Andy Mckenna

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’ve worked in construction my whole career — starting in sales, then into operations and leadership. Before joining GO, I was a Business Development Manager. The move felt right – great people, strong culture, and a reputation that speaks for itself.

What does ‘Guaranteed Outstanding Service’ mean to you?

It’s about four things: service, expertise, knowledge, and independent spirit.

Get the basics right. Bring the technical know-how. Apply experience. And most importantly, empower people to deliver with trust and transparency.

“Service is about getting the basics right – communication, speed, and on-time, in-full delivery.”

Why do people love working with – and for – GO Interiors? Sunday Times Best Places to Work-2

It’s the culture. From day one, you feel trusted and supported. Everyone’s encouraged to do the right thing – not just the easy thing. That makes for great partnerships with customers and a genuinely positive workplace. It's easy to see why GO Interiors were recognised as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work in 2023.

What sets GO Interiors apart from other distributors?

We’re independent, which means we can be flexible, responsive, and people-first. We’re focused on building real relationships and doing what’s best for the customer – not just ticking boxes.

How will Basingstoke Support GO Interiors’ Growing Customer Base in the South East?

Our Dunstable depot has done a brilliant job servicing London and the South East. Now, with Basingstoke, we’re expanding our reach even further — strengthening coverage across Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, the South Coast, and beyond.

The depot gives us a stronger foothold in one of the UK’s busiest construction regions, helping us serve our growing customer base with even greater speed, consistency, and local expertise. It complements the excellent service already provided by Dunstable and builds on GO Interiors’ reputation for reliability and responsiveness.

“We’re here to support our growing customer base in the South – and extend GO’s reach in a busy, high-demand region.”

What’s the goal for the Basingstoke depot?

To be the go-to interiors distributor for the South East. Our location is ideal – quick access to London, the coast, and surrounding counties.

We’ve got the service mindset, stockholding, and technical support to meet the demands of fast-paced projects — with core product lines like dry lining, ceilings, insulation, and passive fire protection always on hand.

Tell us about your team.

We’ve assembled a brilliant group:

  • Trevor Larby – a seasoned industry pro with unmatched product knowledge and a genuine passion for supporting customers.

  • Mark Acton – driven and enthusiastic, he’s already making a big impact.

  • George Oxford – brings strong logistics experience and keeps everything running smoothly.

“Together, we’re a cohesive unit ready to deliver for our customers.”

How are you planning to grow local relationships – and what projects will you support?

It’s about being reliable. We’ll meet contractors, understand what matters to them, and show we can deliver – quickly, in full, and with expert advice.

The South is full of opportunity – from major housing developments like Manydown, to logistics hubs, education projects, and healthcare builds.

Quickfire Round – Just for Fun

Favourite football team?
Spurs – the Europa Cup winners!

Best way to spend the weekend?
With family, preferably outdoors – ideally with a pub lunch and a game on in the background.

Top lunch spot near the depot?
Still exploring, but Bartons Mill looks like a winner.

Depot soundtrack?
90s Britpop – sets the tone and keeps spirits high.

Early bird or night owl?
Definitely an early bird – which helps in this industry. But I can still party all night if needed. I haven’t changed that much!

Tea or coffee?
Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon – best of both.
